we bought a house!

last friday we closed on our house
we were so excited and a little bit in shock it actually happened
we started moving in that night
partially because we're antsy and partially because we need to get the other house rented out ASAP
we had our first meal (pizza, of course) on the floor
the next day was super busy
this room makes it look like we have it together but it was
literally the only room that was semi-functional
and let's not forget there was a pool table on the other half of the room
luckily we were able to sell the pool table, oven/microwave, and refrigerator
so we no longer have a giant pool table in our living room
or gross appliances hanging out in our kitchen
the guy who bought the pool table restores and resells them so he completely disassembled it in our living room
which was pretty crazy to watch
and now it's just an empty room waiting for some updates
the kids have been getting a ton of use out of our swing set
and it didn't take hazel long to learn how to pump
FINALLY!
we're all very happy she can swing on her own now
olive has been a wonderful helper watering the flowers and plants
we love living close enough to walk or ride scooters or bikes to school
i love that the kids don't have to ride the bus
and we get to spend more time together
we already replaced the refrigerator, microwave and oven
we'll wait a little longer on selling and replacing the dishwasher
we have big plans for the kitchen and we're happy to start with new appliances
the house in general needs a lot of work
doors need replacing, walls need painting, kitchen needs updating, etc.
but the backyard is amazing
and that's what sold us on this house
right now there are ripe plums, pears and apples
yesterday after school the kids ate apples off our trees with peanut butter as a snack,
hazel read in the grass while noah watered plants
and the little girls played on the playset
and henry was happy on a blanket
we love our backyard!
and just for fun's sake here's a screenshot of some texts between michael and i

That backyard is pretty awesome, and it looks like your walk to school doesn't have a hill. Enjoy making your house your own!
